I’m A Ninja! (says Die Antwoord)

Posted on March 3rd, 2010

Die Antwoord: “Enter the Ninja” [Self-Released]:

What happens when you put a South American rapper in a room that is straight out of a Fresh Prince video, add in a strange sounding (and awkward to watch) hook and a DJ that looks like a deformed Rob Dyrdek? You get Die Antwoord. Too bad this guy wasn’t around when the live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie was being shot. He might have been able to save Vanilla Ice’s career (or, maybe not).

Throwback Thursday: Hole

Posted on February 18th, 2010

Hole – “Doll Parts”:

When Live Through This was released in 1994, my world (and a lot of others) was changed. Hole was the epitome of 90’s alternative rock, loud avant-garde guitar playing and a singer who (for the most part) couldn’t really sing. Courtney Love, Eric Erlandson Patty Schemel and Melissa Auf der Maur were the members of the band that I remember, but depending on your age, that might be different for you.

Rumor has it that Hole has (once again) changed their line-up and has started work on yet another album. I’m not sure if I want to be excited about that, or start dreading it already. Make the call for yourself though as here below is a live performance of a new track by Hole, called “Samantha” (PS- Courtney still can’t sing. I’m happy about that).
